Medellin City

Medellín is located in Colombia, where the locals are known as "Paisas". Is the second-largest city in Colombia and the capital of the department of Antioquia. It is located in the Aburrá Valley, a central region of the Andes Mountains in South America.

Lleras Park

Restaurants, clubs, and pubs are concentrated in Lleras Park, a place where the El Poblado neighbourhood Medellin residents and tourists find a wide variety of important nightlife venues. There good typical Antioqueño food, as well as national and international cuisine. In this park the party usually lasts until dawn.

Guatapé

Guatapé is a town and municipality in Antioquia Department, Colombia. The "Peñol Rock" (La piedra del Peñol) that borders the lake is a rock formation, that formed along the Antioquia Rock Base, 70 million years ago. New resorts, several restaurants, and rental homes along the lake are available for visitors.

Nightlife

Medellin is a city famous for its nightlife. Every weekend numerous sections of the city come alive with music, revelers and party goers. Unlike other large cities, such as Bogota, nightlife here caters almost entirely to local tastes. Latin music is the order of the day, and dancing is a central feature of almost all the city's nocturnal venues.

Flower Festival

In early August of each year Medellín dresses up in colours for the Flower Festival. This celebration was born in 1957 and has events like the Festival of Orchestras. The climax of the event is the Silleteros (saddler’s) parade, where flower farmers design beautiful arrangements which are carried on their backs. Each saddle, which can weigh up to 70 kilos and measure 5 meters in diameter is made of up to 25 different varieties of flowers.

Coffee Growing

Everyone who comes to Colombia wants to know more about the country’s world famous coffee. However, you don’t need to travel into the depths of Colombia to explore an authentic working coffee farm. In Antioquia, we’re also famous for growing some of the finest coffee in Colombia. In fact, our locally grown coffee is exported to the hippest cafes all around the globe.

Typical Food

Bandeja paisa is a typical meal popular in Colombian cuisine, especially of the Antioquia department. The main characteristic of this dish is the generous amount and variety of food in a traditional bandeja paisa: red beans cooked with pork, white rice, carne molida (ground meat), chicharrón, fried egg, plantain (plátano maduro), chorizo, arepa, hogao sauce, black pudding (morcilla), avocado and lemon.

St. Anthony Square

St. Anthony Square is a kind of open-air gallery where sculptures of Antioquian artist Fernando Botero are exhibited. This 32,690 square meters site in downtown Medellin is often used for public events. In this square you will find St. Anthony’s Church and the Colombo French Alliance, among other places.

Cartagena City Tour
